The new SND building, Opera and Ballet hall
The chorus of Slovak National Theatre Opera emerged in 1920, when our prime opera stage turned professional. Over the century that followed, the chorus featured in innumerable operatic productions of oeuvres across styles, ranging from Baroque to contemporary works. As Advent turns to Christmas season, the chorus sings through the history of operatic choral works. The featured authors include, inter alia, C. Monteverdi, A. Vivaldi, G. F. Händel, G. Rossini, G. Verdi, J. L. Bella, B. Martinů, L. Janáček, J. Cikker, E. Suchoň. Extra bonus includes song compositions and arrangements by the Principal Chorus Master of SND Opera, Pavel Procházka.
